Review management

Review management done the honest way

Reviews decide a lot of local purchases, and they're one of the factors in how businesses appear in Google Maps. The way to get more good reviews is boring and reliable: ask every happy customer, make it easy, and reply to every review. Review management turns that into a system that runs every week.

The system

Review management, piece by piece

  1. Asking, every timeAutomated review requests by text or email after each job or visit, with a direct link to your Google review form, sent with consent.
  2. Asking wellShort, friendly wording and printed QR cards for in-person businesses. No gating (only asking happy customers through a filter) and no incentives.
  3. Replies to every reviewProfessional, personal replies to positive reviews and calm, helpful replies to negative ones, approved by you.
  4. Negative review handlingA process to resolve problems offline, and to report reviews that clearly break Google's policies.
  5. MonitoringNew reviews flagged quickly, with a monthly summary of volume, rating and themes customers mention.
Rules I follow: Google prohibits fake reviews, reviews from employees about their own business and incentivized reviews. In the US, the FTC also has rules against fake and incentivized reviews. I don't write, buy or filter reviews. This protects your profile and your reputation.

FAQ

Review management questions

Can you remove bad reviews?

No one can remove genuine negative reviews. Reviews that clearly violate Google's policies can be reported, and Google decides. A good reply often does more for your reputation than removal would.

Can I offer a discount for reviews?

No. Google prohibits incentivized reviews, and in the US the FTC has rules against them too. Simply asking every customer works.

How many reviews do I need?

There's no magic number. A steady flow of recent, genuine reviews matters more than a big total from years ago.

How much does review management cost?

I quote one fixed monthly price after a free audit.
